One Philadelphia Eagles player has been named to the 2014 PFWA All-NFL Team: punt returner Darren Sproles.
Must Reads
The 31-year-old running back was a revelation in his first season with Philadelphia. Sproles finished 2014 with two touchdowns and 506 punt return yards on 39 attempts for an NFL-leading 13.0 average. It was a career year for the diminutive play-maker. Sproles earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 2 performance and NFC Special Teams Players of the Week honors in Week 4 and 10.
Sproles is headed to the NFL Pro Bowl this year for the first time ever. He also earned second-team AP All-Pro honors.
Now's as good a time as ever to remind you that the Eagles only traded a fifth round draft pick to the Saints in exchange for Sproles.
...
While Sproles was the only Eagles player to make PFWA's All-NFL team, four players made the All-NFC team: offensive tackle Jason Peters, outside linebacker Connor Barwin, defensive end Fletcher Cox, and the aforementioned Sproles. Peters also made the All-NFC team in 2013.
