This report doesn't come as a surprise. ESPN's Bill Williamson first mentioned that Shurmur would be a Raiders target earlier in the week. Shortly after, Tim McManus of Birds 24/7 reported that Shurmur would officially interview for the job.
Shurmur hasn't been a head coach since his unsuccessful stint with the Cleveland Browns from 2011-2012. In 32 games coached, the Browns finished with a 9-23 record (.281%). Shurmur has since joined the Eagles as the team's offensive coordinator shortly after Chip Kelly was hired in 2013. The success the Eagles have had under Kelly has seemingly made Shurmur somewhat of an attractive coaching option.
Shurmur's status something to keep an eye on.
