The Eagles have a total of 10 players scheduled to enter free agency. The biggest names are Jeremy Maclin and Brandon Graham. Maclin has expressed his desire to stay with the Eagles while Graham is expected to test the market.
Philadelphia will have make decisions on a few other players who also played key roles in 2014. Starting safety Nate Allen will enter free agency after being brought back on a one-year deal following the 2013 season. Bradley Fletcher struggled and could be out. Casey Matthews held his own while filling in for DeMeco Ryans. Mark Sanchez had to step up in place of Nick Foles and was up and down. Brad Smith mainly contributed on special teams.
The Eagles could sign some of these players before the new league year begins in March. But they won't sign all of them.
The unrestricted free agents are free to sign with any team if their contract expires at the start of the new league year in March. The Eagles own the rights to their restricted and exclusive rights free agents if they want to keep them.
2015 NFL free agency is officially scheduled to start on March 10, 2015 at 4:00 PM EST. That's 68 days away from the timing of this post.
