According to Vito Stellino of The Florida-Times Union, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts III has been ruled out for the team's NFL Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Shorts III will not be making the trip to Philadelphia.
Cecil Shorts is out and won't make the trip to Philly. The rookie reeivers will have to step up.

With Shorts out, the Jaguars only have four healthy wide receivers: Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, and Mike Brown. Lee (2nd round), Robinson (2nd round), and Hurns (undrafted) are all rookies. Brown was an undrafted rookie free agent in 2012 who has made seven career starts over two seasons.
Shorts is easily the most proven starter of Jacksonville's inexperienced wide receiver corps. The Jaguars offense wasn't looking very good to begin with and the loss of Shorts doesn't help matters.
Philadelphia's veteran cornerbacks will be looking forward this match-up, as starter Cary Williams indicated earlier in the week.
