Eagles Injury Report: Jeremy Maclin among players not practicing

New, comments

An update on the Eagles Week 5 injury situation.

Ezra Shaw

A number of Philadelphia Eagles players were seen not participating in the team's Tuesday practice. These players include: starting wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, starting inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks, backup tight end James Casey, and nickel cornerback Brandon Boykin. Starting center Jason Kelce, who had sports hernia surgery last week and doesn't expect to return until around Week 10, was out as well.

Maclin's absence is the most curious. The Eagles' wide out did not suffer an apparent injury during the Eagles-49ers game. No word on why Maclin is sitting out. Perhaps it is just rest. Keep in mind Eagles starting defensive end Fletcher Cox sat out of action last Tuesday before returning as a full participant on Wednesday.

UPDATE: Maclin appears to be fine.

Kendricks was seen without a helmet at practice but was apparently stretching with the team and doing some light work. Kendricks still has not practiced ever since leaving the team's Week 2 game against the Colts with a calf injury. There has been no update on Kendricks' status.

Casey, like Maclin, did not visibly suffer an injury during Philadelphia's Week 4 game. Casey was listed as probable heading into the Eagles-49ers game with a knee injury.

Boykin suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's game and would miss some time before ultimately returning later on. Boykin looked hampered by the injury upon his return but played through it.

The Eagles will release their first official Week 5 injury report tomorrow on Wednesday.
