Jason Peters Injury: Philadelphia Eagles tackle leaves 49ers game early, returns

Crisis averted.

Derik Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles starting left tackle Jason Peters suffered an injury during the team's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Peters' status is currently unknown.

Peters limped off the field after an Eagles offensive play.

The absence of Peters is obviously really bad news for Philadelphia. The Eagles offensive line was already banged heading into this game. The Eagles offensive line now looks like this:

Left tackle: Andrew Gardner

Left guard: Matt Tobin

Center: David Molk

Right guard: Dennis Kelly

Right tackle: Todd Herremans.

Four of those players are backups. Herremans, the only original starter from this unit, has been moved from his usual starting position of right guard to right tackle.

UPDATE (6:43 PM EST) - Peters has returned to the game. That's a great sign for Philadelphia.
