Eagles-49ers Injury Report: Mychal Kendricks ruled out

New, comments

Eagles injury update for Friday, September 26th, 2014.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles have released their final injury report in preparation of their Week 4 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Starting inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks has been ruled out. The combination of Emmanuel Acho, Casey Matthews, and rookie first round draft pick Marcus Smith II will replace his snaps. Kendricks, who reportedly showed some progress in practice this week, may be ready to return next week.

Starting center Jason Kelce has also been ruled out. Kelce had sports hernia surgery on Tuesday and is expected to return in six to eight weeks. Kelce said he's targeting a Week 10 return. Backup center David Molk will fill in for Kelce.

Offensive lineman Matt Tobin is probable. Tobin will likely start at left guard for Philaelphia. The Eagles starting offense line now looks like this, from left to right: left tackle Jason Peters, left guard Matt Tobin, center David Molk, right guard Dennis Kelly, right tackle Todd Herremans.

Elsewhere on the injury report, rookie wide receiver Josh Huff is questionable. Huff was a full participant in practice all week. Given his questionable status and no need to rush him back, it seems likely Huff will be a game-day inactive.
