The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Washington Redskins on Sunday afternoon, September 21st, 2014. Philadelphia moved to 3-0 on the 2014 NFL season with a 37-34 victory. As many have noted, this is the first time that the Eagles have started a season with three straight wins since 2004.
It was an awesome game to watch between two bitter rivals. This game really had it all: big plays, injuries, taunting, fights, storylines... you name it.
Eagles quarterback Nick Foles really stepped up and deserved a lot of credit for the victory. Foles bounced back strong despite a cheap shot hit put on him by Washington defender Chris Baker. All-Pro left tackle Jason Peters made Baker regret his foolish decision. Philadelphia's starting wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Jordan Matthews also came up big with stellar performances. Rookie kicker Cody Parkey made the 51-yard field goal that ended up being the difference in the Eagles' victory.
