The Philadelphia Eagles have released their first injury report in preparation of their Week 3 game against the Washington Redskins.
The most notable injury situation is that of starting inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks. The emerging third-year player missed practice with a calf injury that he suffered in Eagles-Colts game on Monday night. Defensive coordinator Bill Davis noted that Kendricks is "day-to-day" so it's unclear if he will play against Washington. If Kendricks can't play, the Eagles will be forced to start either the much-maligned Casey Matthews or Emmanuel Acho next to DeMeco Ryans on the inside.
In more positive news, both rookie wide receiver Josh Huff and second-year offensive lineman Matt Tobin returned to practice.
Huff, who has been sitting out ever since he suffered an AC sprain in mid-August, was a limited participant in practice. Huff might not be ready to return this week but to see he's making progress is a good sign for the Eagles.
Tobin, on the other hand, was a full participant. Tobin was seen taking second team repetitions at left guard. There's reason to believe that Tobin will challenge for playing time as a starter if he's healthy enough. It's speculation on my part, but the Eagles might opt to start him at left guard over Dennis Kelly. Tobin has been sitting out of action ever since he suffered a high ankle injury in the Eagles-Jets preseason finale.
Starting outside cornerback Cary Williams was limited in practice with a hamstring injury.
