Starting left guard Evan Mathis and fill-in starting right tackle Allen Barbre were placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. Mathis was specifically placed on injured reserve, designated to return so he'll back later this season. With Mathis and Barbre out, Dennis Kelly was seen taking first team snaps at left guard while Andrew Gardner was at right tackle.
Inside linebacker Najee Goode was also placed on the injured reserve list on Tuesday. The team promoted practice squad linebacker Emmanuel Acho to the active roster in Goode's place.
As far as the players on Philadelphia's active 53-man roster are concerned, two sat out on Wednesday. Rookie wide receiver Josh Huff (shoulder) and second-year offensive lineman Matt Tobin (ankle) are still out after not practicing last week. Huff has been out since mid-August with an AC sprain. Huff apparently caught some throws from head coach Chip Kelly in a side drill. Tobin has been out since the team's final preseason game against the New York Jets. Tobin said last week that he is a few weeks away from returning.
Running back Chris Polk was a full participant in practice last week but was ruled questionable for the Eagles-Jaguars game and ended up not playing. Polk suffered a slight hamstring tear in late July that caused him to miss the entire summer save for the first couple practices. Polk was back at practice on Tuesday.
Rookie cornerback Jaylen Watkins was a participant in practice after sitting out last week with a hamstring injury.
