Connor Barwin's Benefit Concert: Behind the Scenes

VICE Sports released a behind the scenes look at Connor Barwin's benefit concert that took place in June 2014.

If you weren't already aware, Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin held a benefit concert earlier this summer in June that raised money to revitalize a South Philadelphia park. The event was pretty succesful; Barwin and his Make The World Better (MTWB) foundation raised a grand total of $170,000. The concert featured a number of bands including Philadelphia's own, Kurt Vile and The Violators, with additional performances by The Tontons and The Districts.

Vice Sports recently released a behind the scenes video focused on Barwin and his involvement in the concert. It's an interesting watch. Barwin is a cool guy. Here's the video description:

Connor Barwin doesn't fit your linebacker narrative, and he's making the most of it. Barwin explores Philly by bicycle, and can be found post-game watching your favorite indie band at a local venue. This summer, he teamed up with a fellow Philly superstar, Kurt Vile, to raise money to revitalize a run-down community space in South Philly.

Especially love this Barwin quote from a conversation he had with Eagles outside linebacker Travis Long:

"The open bar ends at 8, but the bar is for charity after 8 o'clock. So let's get f***ing drunk, dude."

Don't forget to check out the BGN Radio interview with Barwin. As a bonus, here's a photo gallery of the concert with over 50 pictures included.
