Kenjon Barner Placed on Injured Reserve

The former Oregon standout will spend the 2014 season with the Eagles. On IR.

The Eagles have placed RB Kenjon Barner on injured reserve reports Adam Caplan.

Barner, a 2013 6th round pick by the Panthers, was acquired on August 19th for a conditional 2015 7th round pick, and was released with a "waived/injured" designation on August 30th during final cuts.

Barner had been competing for a backup running back spot against Henry Josey and Matthew Tucker, who were also released. Barner rushed for 32 yards on seven carries in the Eagles third pre-season game against the Steelers. Against the Jets in the pre-season finale, he gained 21 yards on 5 carries, one reception for -4 yards and one kick return for 22 yards before injuring his left ankle. Because he cleared waivers, he must be put on season-ending injured reserve.

With his placement on injured reserve, the Eagles do not owe the Panthers the 2015 7th round draft pick, because the condition of Barner being on the 46 man active roster for four games can not be met.
