ONE.
MORE.
WEEK.
That's all the time that remains between today, Sunday, August 31st, 2014 and the beginning of the Philadelphia Eagles 2014 regular season schedule set to take place on Sunday, September 7th, 2014.
The Eagles open the season with a home game in Philadelphia against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars. Kickoff is at 1:00 PM EST. Shortly after the 2014 NFL schedule was released in late April, odd-makers set the Eagles as the biggest Week 1 favorites: 11 points! (Am I making you nervous?)
Former Eagles Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley has already declared that veteran signal caller Chad Henne will start at quarterback in favor of talented rookie prospect Blake Bortles.
The 2014 NFL season officially gets underway this upcoming Thursday night, September 4th, when the Green Bay Packers travel to Seattle to take on the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seahawks.
It's really great to know football is (almost) back. The Eagles had a nice run in 2013 but the season ended abruptly after the team's first round playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints. It's been a long offseason ever since with a number of additions/subtractions made in free agency and the 2014 NFL Draft.
It's time to see whether these Eagles can build on the success of Chip Kelly's first year as head coach or if they team will step back. Either way, we won't have to wait much longer to find out.
