Eagles Training Camp Injury Report: Cary Williams sits out of team drills, Earl Wolff returns

No major injuries have occurred through the first seven Eagles practices.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles finished their seventh training camp practice on Sunday and there are still no major injuries to report. There are a few minor ones to note, however.

CB Cary Williams: Kind of a strange situation. Williams entered practice wearing pads and looked fine. Then, as I pointed out in my training camp notes, he was seen standing by himself on the sideline being held out of team drills. After practice was over Williams was asked if he was being disciplined regarding his comments about the New England Patriots ("They're cheaters!") after Friday's practice. Williams instead indicated he had Sunday off because of "minor leg/knee soreness" which is something the Eagles actually confirmed. OK. Nolan Carroll and Brandon Boykin saw time with the first team in the absence of Williams.

S Earl Wolff: Wolff returned to practice on Sunday after missing sessions on Thursday and Friday. Prior to practice Chip Kelly confirmed Wolff was dealing with knee soreness. Wolff took first team reps with the ones. I didn't specifically notice anything wrong with him but some other reporters noted he didn't look 100%. After practice Wolff said he "feels great." When asked if the knee injury was the same one Wolff was dealing with at the end of the 2013 regular season, Wolff responded with a smile and said: "Possibly."

WR Riley Cooper: Still in a walking boot. Before practice Kelly said Cooper is dealing with a foot injury and could return later this week. Cooper did some intense bike work on the sideline during practice. Cooper has been out since last Monday, July 28th.

WR Jeff Maehl: Also still in a walking boot. Also did some intense bike work on the sideline during practice. Maehl has been out since Friday, August 1st.

WR Jeremy Maclin: Full participant in Sunday's practice after being held out of team drills late in practice on Friday, August 1st.

ILB Jake Knott: Hamstring. Out since Friday, August 1st.

RB Chris Polk: Hamstring. Out since Monday, July 28th.

C Julian Vandervelde: Back injury. Reportedly started practicing outside but went back in. Out since Monday, July 28th.

NT Bennie Logan: Practiced. Recovering from a hamstring injury. Not 100% yet. Slowly being eased back in.

The Eagles are fortunate to not have had any major injuries to this point*. At this date last year the team had already lost wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and linebacker Jason Phillips to ACL injuries.

So far, so good.
