Earlier this week ESPN revealed a ranking of all 32 NFL coaches based on input from 30 various NFL insiders. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly ranked 12th overall. According to over 61% of the voters here at Bleeding Green Nation, Kelly's ranking was too low.
Also among those who thought Kelly should be ranked higher, we're just learning, is former Eagles president Joe Banner. Banner, who recently joined Twitter under the handle @JoeBanner13, took to social media to make his thoughts known:
Mike Sando at ESPN got 30 "NFL Insiders" to rate the coaches from 1-32. If all they base rankings on is past record we don't need insiders.

The real question is if you were picking a coach today, what order would you pick them in. Chip Kelly is in my top 5.

The "insiders" had him 12.

This doesn't exactly come as a surprise. Banner, a member of Cleveland's front office at the time, interviewed Kelly for the Browns head coaching job in early 2013. The Browns would lose out on Kelly, however, who appeared to be returning to Oregon before ending up in Philadelphia with the Eagles. The Browns ended up hiring Rob Chudzinski and went on to fire him immediately after the 2013 season.
What's funny is that Banner said Kelly was "too risky" for the Browns when they missed out on him. Now, Banner is no longer with the Browns, but he still seems to think highly of Kelly.
