Here's an update on the Philadelphia Eagles injury situation after over twenty days of training camp practice and three preseason games.
Did Practice
RB LeSean McCoy (thumb)
McCoy spoke after practice and said that he will be fine for the season opener. Here's a picture of the wrap around McCoy's hand.
WR Jeremy Maclin (knee)
Maclin seems to be fine.
RB Chris Polk (hamstring)
A few reporters noted that Polk looked good during practice.
Did not practice
WR Josh Huff (shoulder)
Chip Kelly noted yesterday that injured reserve and/or short-term injured reserve is not an option for Huff. After practice on Sunday Huff told reporters he feels like he could play tomorrow if needed. It's still unsure if he'll be ready by Week 1. Out since Friday, August 15th.
OLB Connor Barwin (?)
Out since Saturday, August 23rd.
S Malcolm Jenkins (rest)
Jenkins told reporters he did not injure himself in the Steelers game and he's just resting up. Out since Saturday, August 23rd.
WR Arrelious Benn (concussion)
Benn suffered a concussion in the Eagles-Steelers game. He has to go through the NFL's mandatory concussion protocol before he can return to the field. Out since Friday, August 22nd.
C Julian Vandervelde (back)
Out of practice since Monday, July 28th. Had back surgery on August 9th.
---
The Eagles are still fortunate to not have had any season-ending injuries to this point*. At this date last year the team had already lost wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, linebacker Jason Phillips, wide receiver Arrelious Benn, and pass rusher Phillip Hunt to ACL injuries.
