Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is at it again. Never a stranger to make jokes during his press conference, Kelly responded with the following line when asked about a toe injury that caused star running back LeSean McCoy to miss practice on Sunday:
"I don't think he'll ever play again."
While McCoy originally declined to speak with reporters after not practicing on Sunday, the team's starting running back answered questions after he returned to practice on Monday. McCoy noted that he was dealing with a "small version of turf toe, but not as serious." Kelly found it odd that so many questions were being asked about a seemingly minor injury. "A lot of questions for a practice missed with a toe in August," he noted.
Kelly's humor showed up again later in Tuesday's press conference when he was asked about the team's upcoming dress rehearsal preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. What does Kelly want to see out of his starters?
"100 points and a shut out."
Never a dull moment with Chip around.
