Meet Dustin Hopkins, a possible solution to the Eagles' kicker concerns - Philly.com
The answer could lie in Buffalo, where the Bills have two good kickers in camp. It appears that the Bills' kicker competition is going to be won by Dan Carpenter, who was outstanding for the Bills last year, connecting on 33 of 36 field goal tries, including four of six from outside 50.

Let’s Talk About the DL - Iggles Blitz
I know the talk of Bair over Curry and Kruger will bother some of you, but he’s been the best 3-4 DE of the group. The coaches are telling you what they think by how much they’ve played him and the fact it has happened against starting competition. Bair has earned a roster spot with his play. I wish he was 25, but the fact he’s 29 doesn’t change his game tape. He’s been very good this summer. You don’t keep potential (Kruger) over production (Bair) when one guy is clearly better.

Game Review: Eagles Defense Vs. Patriots - Birds 24/7
The best thing I can say about Vinny Curry is that you always notice when he's on the field. His hustle and effort jump off the screen. Chip Kelly pointed out the way Curry blocked for Cary Williams on the pick six, but there are other examples too. He blew up a run play that gained 3 in the second and then made a tackle on a 2-yard carry. In the second quarter, he started out as a down lineman, rushed the passer, realized it was a WR screen, hustled downfield and leaped on the ball-carrier. Later, Curry fought through a double team and nearly got to the QB. I understand why he's not an ideal fit for a two-gap 3-4. He should be on the field though in all passing situations once the regular season begins.

Fan-Demonium: Getting Better - PE.com
Mark Sanchez looked good last week and followed that up with an even better performance against the Patriots. He has solidified himself as the backup quarterback. I also think Sanchez has made everyone comfortable with him as the backup. Sanchez threw a pair of touchdowns in the game. He did throw an interception, but that might have been a good thing. We got to see how Sanchez responded to the mistake. He didn't let it get to him. Instead, he led the team on an 80-yard touchdown drive the next time he got the ball back. Things are not always going to go smoothly in a game, especially for the backup quarterback. It was good to see Sanchez respond to the pick by basically ignoring it and remaining confident and aggressive.

Eagles enlist Tra Thomas in Marcus Smith project - Inquirer
he Eagles had been handling Marcus Smith with first-round draft pick gloves - the type of cradling a team gives a No. 1 selection who isn't expected to start right away. But the team had surely hoped Smith would contribute and play a part-time role this season. However, after Friday night's preseason loss to the Patriots, the Eagles have taken the gloves off.

'14 Player Rankings, Offense: 100-91 - ESPN
Foles threw 27 touchdowns to 2 interceptions last season. That 13.5 TD-to-interception ratio was the best in NFL history (min. 200 attempts).

Madden 15: Eagles kicker has higher hit power than Richard Sherman - CBSSports.com
The makers of Madden 15 raised some eyebrows in July when they released the initial batch of player ratings for the game -- a batch where Tom Brady and Russell Wilson were both rated the same. EA Sports released a few more player ratings this week and the most notable one probably belongs to Eagles kicker Carey Spear. According to the Madden guys, Spear has a hit power of 73. That means the Eagles kicker hits harder than Richard Sherman, Osi Umenyiora and Darnell Dockett.
