Eagles vs. Patriots snap counts: Marcus Smith II and Jordan Matthews lead the way

New, comments

Who played the most and the least for the Eagles in Preseason Week 2?

Jared Wickerham

While the score may not matter when it comes to NFL preseason football, it's still interesting to take a look at not only how players performed but how often they played. Here are some snap count observations from the Philadelphia Eagles 42-35 loss to the New England Patriots on Friday night. (Recap)

Starters

As expected, the Eagles starters played for a good portion of the first half. Due to the offense being unable to stay on the field, however, the starters only logged 18 snaps... which is about the same amount they had last week against the Chicago Bears. The starting defensive players played about anywhere from 16 to 22.
