Cowboys season-ticket holders will get a special surprise with their annual stub package this year. It turns out that the Cowboys will supply their loyal fans with tickets that stretch until the NFC Championship game, according to ESPN Dallas writer Darren Rovell.
The move is strange as the team seems to be spinning into the abyss after losing their best defensive players to free agency and suffering a litany of injuries. However, you can't fault the team for keeping a positive attitude, as they have safety Jeff Heath on their roster!
All joking aside, the Cowboys claim that the move isn't an act of hubris, but actually a "fan-friendly" initiative. The team hasn't been to the NFC title game since 1995 and has only won two playoff games since that appearance. The Cowboys clearly want to reward their fans who have stayed with them through nearly 20 years of high expectations and low results. It'll all pay off if the team does have an incredible season, but odds are in favor of this being just another "Jerry being Jerry" blunder.
