Mark Sanchez says Philadelphia fans are nicer than New York fans

Mark Sanchez has spoken.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

According to Eagles backup quarterback Mark Sanchez, Philadelphia fans are NOT the worst fans in the universe. Sanchez actually thinks they're nice. Or at least comparatively speaking.

Now, it's hardly surprising Sanchez would say something like this. His time spent with the New York Jets wasn't exactly smooth sailing. Considering how much Sanchez struggled in New York despite some playoff success, it's easy to see why Jets fans grew tired of the team's former first round pick.

At the same time, Sanchez is still in the honeymoon period with his new city. He's only been with the Eagles since the team signed him in March. Sanchez hasn't really done anything wrong to deserve criticism from Philly fans to this point. He's said and done all the right things. He's even looked good in training camp recently despite struggles in the team's spring practices.

It won't take long, however, for Philadelphia fans to turn on Sanchez if he struggles to play well like he did in New York. While it's a different situation because Sanchez is an expected veteran backup for the Eagles as opposed to a failed franchise starter for the Jets, but that won't stop people from being mean.

For now, it's just fun to see that Philly fans aren't the ones being unnecessarily thrown under the bus.
