According to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell himself, the 2015 NFL Draft will NOT take place at it's usual location of Radio City Music Hall in New York City. This will mark the first time in 49 years since the event hasn't been held in New York.
An exact location for the 2015 NFL Draft hasn't been announced but it has been officially narrowed down to two locations. "We’re focusing solely on Los Angeles and Chicago now," Goodell told the L.A. Times. Goodell noted the final decision won't be made until later this summer.
Philadelphia was reportedly one of the many U.S. cities in the running for hosting next year's draft. It never seemed likely, however.
The first ever NFL Draft was hosted at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Philadelphia on February 8, 1936. The Philadelphia Eagles drafted halfback Jay Berwanger with the first overall pick but he never opted to play in the NFL.
This news could be unfortunate if you live in the Philadelphia and were planning to attend the 2015 NFL Draft. Chicago and Los Angeles are obviously farther away than a ride up the New Jersey Turnpike. For Eagles fans in L.A. in Chicago... do you plan to attend if the event is hosted near your location?
