A heartfelt apology to Travis Frederick and the Dallas Cowboys for my 'mean tweet' - Philly.com
Over the weekend, the Dallas Cowboys borrowed an idea from Jimmy Kimmel, and released a video of some of their players reading "mean tweets" written about them. It is legitimately funny, and has since gone viral. In case you haven't seen it, you can watch it here.
National NFL columnist: Nick Foles is 'overrated' - Philly.com
Slow down what train? Who exactly is overrating Nick Foles? Is anyone calling him a top-five quarterback? A top-10 QB? Is Foles doing Beats by Dre commercials that I'm not aware of? Is he flashing money signs whenever he's on camera? In a league where fans and media massively overrate "the next great QBs," Foles has remained a quiet figure nationally, and many who have talked about Foles have downplayed his 2013 season, opting to cite Chip Kelly's presence in Philly as his biggest reason for success.
The First Bump in the Road - Iggles Blitz
Allen Barbre is the leading candidate to replace Johnson. He didn’t start for the Eagles last year, but did see some time at LT when Jason Peters was banged up. Barbre can be an effective RT, but losing him destroys the OL depth. What then happens if Peters gets hurt? The Eagles really need another young player to step up. Dennis Kelly would be the best choice because he has starting experience, but he hasn’t played in a while. Could Matt Tobin slide over to the right side? Michael Bamiro is more of a long shot with his limited background and pass protection issues.
Eagles Depth Chart: Offense - Birds 24/7
The Eagles specifically targeted wide receivers whom they think can play inside or outside. I listed Arrelious Benn and Jeff Maehl as the backups on the outside, but if Maclin or Cooper were to go down, Matthews figures to be the most likely candidate to take over their spots. The Eagles could then plug Smith or Josh Huff in the slot. Maclin, Cooper, Matthews and Huff are locks to make the roster. Guys like Smith, Benn, Maehl and Ifeanyi Momah are fighting for spots. Out of that group, Smith seems like the most likely to stick.

Eagles’ Lane Johnson Busted for PEDs, Team Ignores Obvious Signs - Philly Complex
The signs that Lane was indeed juicing appear obvious to me, but somehow the team overlooked them. Here’s some evidence that something may have been up with Lane this offseason….
Are the Lions up to the challenge of fixing Matthew Stafford? - SB Nation
The Lions are going all-in on Matthew Stafford. What will it take for him to fulfill his enormous expectations?
