BGN Comments:

daankazi: YES

iladelphia: Not shocked. Thought they’d trade up for him or Latimer. Although maybe it wasn’t such a great move. Depends on how many WRs come off the board in the interim

spoc21: It’s no secret that I’m no Jordan Matthews fan, but I know I’ll get over it and end up loving the kid. He has great size, speed, and toughness My only qualm at this point is trading up for him. IMO we’d have gotten a similarly graded receiver by staying put. I’m BLOWN we traded up for this man.

Randy Marsh: love this guy

Fenton_Hardy: YES! Finally have our big WR…and a Mike Quick appearance. Loving this!

Alon: This dude is freaking awesome

Discoduck: You gotta hand it to Howie. Chip clearly thought (as I did and have said multiple times) that Smith was the best 3-4 OLB after Barr and Matthews was the best WR after Cooks. Those two positions were clearly our top priorities and Howie found a way to get both of them while STILL moving up from a low 4th round pick to a high 3rd round pick. It is beyond me how people can’t get the reasoning behind this.

JasonB: You've got to say. The Eagles are going after guys that fit what they want to do to a "t." Smith is a prototypical athlete for a 3-4 edge rusher. Matthews has basically all the tools you’d want. We have to see if these guys can play… But they certainly fit the mold.
