2014 NFL Mock Draft: Mike Mayock Mocks Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to the Eagles

Check out our 2014 Eagles mock draft central for more opinions on who could be the #22 pick in May.

Kevin C. Cox

Unlike many mock drafters, NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock only releases one mock draft every year. It usually takes place the night before the draft starts. This year, Mayock has the Eagles taking a defensive back: Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Coincidentally, it was reported today that Clinton-Dix has expressed interest in playing for the Eagles. More specifically he said "Come get me!" That itself doesn't mean much, but it's fun to note.

Mayock previously had the Eagles taking Virginia Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller in an unreleased mock he discussed in a conference call with reporters last week. Mayock has maintained all along that the Eagles should focus on defense at pick No. 22.

Once again, I'm still not sure that Clinton-Dix makes it to the Eagles' pick. He's expected to be one of the top safeties off the board. I'm also not convinced the Eagles are looking to go safety in the first round. It's worth noting Mayock likes to focus on best player available rather than need, however.

What do you think of the pick?

Here's the rest of Mayock's first round draft. Notice Johnny Manziel to the Cowboys!
