The Madden NFL 15 Cover Vote is down to the final two players and they're both from the NFC. The choices are either Carolina Panthers quarterback Cameron Newton or Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. I'm not surprised to see either player make it to the finals.
As far as Newton is concerned, well, he's a quarterback, and they're the ones who typically get all the glory. He also has the prestige of being a former No. 1 overall pick. Plus Panthers finished as one of the best teams in 2013. Given Newton's speed and arm, he's a pretty fun Madden player to use.
Richard Sherman doesn't have the glamor of the quarterback position or the prestige of being a former high draft pick (he was actually drafted in the fifth round) but he is hardly a stranger to headlines. Sherman is the self-proclaimed best corner in the game and he caught national attention for this post-game interview following the NFC Championship Game. Plus it doesn't hurt that his team is very good and won Super Bowl 48.
The chances of an Eagles player landing on the Madden 15 cover ended last week when Andrew Luck (who lost to Cam Newton) beat out star running back LeSean McCoy. Eagles QB Nick Foles also made the tournament but was quickly eliminated in the first round by Colin Kaepernick.
As far as the finalists go, I'd probably vote for Sherman over Newton. How about you?
