SB Nation's Mocking the Draft released their latest 2014 NFL Mock Draft on Monday. This mock goes two rounds deep and features trades. Let's see who MTD has the Eagles taking this time around:
22. Philadelphia Eagles: Marqise Lee, WR, Southern California
With Cooks off the board, the Eagles would have to go after Lee if they want a wide receiver. After him there is a drop off at the position. Lee is a natural playmaker and would be an adequate replacement for DeSean Jackson.
Lee is becoming a name popularly mocked to the Eagles ever since the release of DeSean Jackson. ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has the Eagles picking up Lee in his latest mock draft. Given the depth at wide receiver in this draft, I hardly think the Eagles have to take a receiver early. But they very well could, and Lee is a guy whom Chip Kelly is familiar with.
54. Philadelphia Eagles: Antone Exum, CB, Virginia Tech
After going with a wide receiver in the first round, the Eagles should target secondary in the second. Had Exum been healthy last season, chances are he'd be long gone by this pick.
Exum is a 6-0, 213 lbs redshirt senior who barely played in 2013 due to injury. Exum spent the beginning of the year working to recover from an offseason ACL injury. He then played in three games for the Hokies before spraining his ankle and missing the rest of the season. Exum is healthy now, but he would likely sit the entire 2014 NFL season the bench and be groomed to be a starter for the future.
