The NFLPA released a list of the top 50 player sales for the 2013-2014 season and unsurprisingly the top 10 was dominated by quarterbacks. The QBs who appeared in Super Bowl 48 were at the very top. Here's a look:
1. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
2. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos
3. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers
4. Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins
5. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
6. Tom Brady, New England Patriots
7. Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
8. Eli Manning, New York Giants
9. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
10. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Only one Philadelphia Eagles player appeared on the top 50: star running back and NFL leading rusher LeSean McCoy. Funny enough, McCoy ranks in at the same number that's on his jersey: 25. It's no surprise to see McCoy ranked highly given his talent and success. Moving forward, I have a feeling the Eagles might sell a whole lot more No. 9 jerseys this year if third-year quarterback Nick Foles can continue to play well.
A look at the rest of the NFC East:
Washington Redskins
3 - QB Robert Griffin III
New York Giants
8 - QB Eli Manning
21 - WR Victor Cruz
Dallas Cowboys
15 - TE Jason Witten
22 - QB Tony Romo
29 - DE DeMarcus Ware (Too bad the team had to cut him, huh?)
30 - WR Dez Bryant
34 - WR Miles Austin (...why?)
