According to a report from Phoenix/Arizona based news outlet KTAR, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was arrested in January 2014.

Former National Football League quarterback Donovan McNabb has been arrested in Mesa, Ariz., police said.

A court website showed that he received a criminal traffic citation in January. He has a trial appearance scheduled for May 16.

Brandon Geoffrion of TMZ has more details on the reasons behind McNabb's arrest. It appears McNabb was driving while under the influence.

Here's the mugshot that was released by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

McNabb spent 11 years with the Eagles after being drafted No. 2 overall in the 1999 NFL Draft. He became a highly decorated player during his career and is arguably the best quarterback in Eagles franchise history. He currently holds a majority of the team's passing records. After unsuccessful stints in Washington and Minnesota, McNabb left football to pursue a sports media job. He's currently a sports analyst for Fox Sports Live.

McNabb officially announced his retirement in late July of 2013. The Eagles retired McNabb's "5" jersey last season during halftime of the Eagles-Chiefs game in September.
