The race to sign DeSean Jackson has two new entrants. According to Dianna Marie Russini of NBC Washington, the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers have interest in the former Eagles star receiver.
Per sources: DeSean Jackson has 2 teams making offers. I'm told Cleveland Browns are 1 and they are going hard with offer. #Browns

Per sources: San Francisco reached out to DeSean Jackson while he was at dinner with Redskins. They want him to visit. #Redskins #49ers

Cleveland definitely makes sense from a financial perspective. They still have over $30 million in cap room, which is the most in the entire league. As for the 49ers, that's a different story. They could use a wide receiver but Jackson seems out of their price range. Remember how it was reported that the Chiefs only didn't want DeSean because they couldn't afford him? Yeah, well, the 49ers have even less cap room than the Chiefs do. (Hmm.)
As of this post, Jackson is still spending time in Washington visiting with the Redskins after first meeting with them on Monday night. A report emerged last night that said Jackson to the Redskins is a "done deal", but obviously that's not officially the case... yet.
Stay tuned for more updates.
