Eagles' general manager Howie Roseman was a very busy man last week. Not only did he sign Jason Peters and Jason Kelce to contract extensions, but he also re-signed wide receivers Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin to new deals that prevent them from leaving in free agency. When you look at the details of all the deals, they seem to be reasonable, team-friendly contracts.
Roseman continued his in-house maintenance this week. In a move that was really just a formality, he signed exclusive-rights free agent Cedric Thornton to a one-year contract. He also made a tough, but necessary decision in cutting veteran receiver Jason Avant.
Overall, it's been a strong start to the off-season for Roseman. That said, the real fun has yet to begin. NFL free agency is just around the corner. Roseman has a number of roster holes to fill and the ample amount of cap space to do just that. The Eagles won't be shy in adding new talent.
But before any of that takes places, I thought it would be worthwhile to see what a pre-free agency Roseman approval rating looks likes. I'll put together another Roseman approval poll after the bulk of the free agent signings have been made. It'll be interesting to see how the results compare...
So, do you approve of the job Howie Roseman is doing as the general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles? Vote now in the poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments.
