NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock recently released an updated list of his position rankings for the 2014 NFL Draft. Mayock ranked the top 5 players at each position. Today we'll look at his favorite wide receivers. Here's who Mayock listed:
Rank | Wide Receiver | HT | WT |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Sammy Watkins, Clemson | 6-1 | 211 |
2 | Mike Evans, Texas A&M | 6-5 | 231 |
3 | Marqise Lee, USC | 6-0 | 192 |
4 | Brandin Cooks, Oregon State | 5-10 | 189 |
t5 | Kelvin Benjamin, Florida State | 6-5 | 240 |
t5 | Jarvis Landry, LSU | 5-11 | 205 |
t5 | Odell Beckham, LSU | 5-11 | 199 |
Mayock's rankings have changed since the results of the 2014 NFL Combine. Both Marqise Lee (2) and Kelvin Benjamin (4) dropped a spot. Mike Evans of Texas A&M jumped up one and is now listed as the second best wide receiver. New to the list entire is Brandin Cooks, who jumped to 4, and Odell Beckham, who's tied for 5th.
The Eagles addressed this position of need in the last week by re-signing Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin. That doesn't mean the Eagles won't take a wide receiver in the draft. Maclin is only signed to a one-year contract as of right now. Jason Avant has been released. And the speculative status of DeSean Jackson is curious. It would be hard for the Eagles to pass up on a potential long-term talent at receiver if the right player is available when they're on the clock.
So which one of these players is your favorite target? Or do you think the Eagles don't need to worry about receiver high in the draft anymore?
