SB Nation's Mocking the Draft released their latest 2014 NFL Mock Draft on Monday. This mock goes two rounds deep and features some new names. It also accounts for the ongoing DeSean Jackson saga. Let's see who MTD has the Eagles taking this time around:
22. Philadelphia Eagles - Demarcus Lawrence, OLB, Boise State
The Eagles need an edge rusher, and Boise State's Demarcus Lawrence is a dark horse to find his way into the first round. He's a perfect fit as an edge rusher in the 3-4 defense. Chip Kelly will appreciate his versatility and length.
Hey, a new name! Previous mocks have had the Eagles taking one of the top cornerbacks (Justin Gilbert, Darqueze Dennard, etc.) or safeties (Calvin Pryor, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix) but not this time around. The Eagles get their pass rusher here.
Lawrence measures in at 6-3, 251 lbs. He's currently ranked 108 on SB Nation's top 200 big board.
54. Philadelphia Eagles - Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State
With the Eagles shopping DeSean Jackson, wide receiver could become a need. Davante Adams is in the mold of Michael Crabtree, though his speed is a bit underrated.
Adams is another name that I don't commonly see linked to the Eagles. He stands at 6-2, 216 lbs and ranks as the 55th overall prospect on SB Nation's top 200 big board.
How do you feel about these picks? Were there better options available?
