The Eagles' most surprising addition in free agency this year didn't come via a signing. Instead, it came in the form of a trade for former New Orleans Saints' offensive weapon Darren Sproles. While Sproles is listed as a running back, his contributions as a receiver will be the most useful as this point in his career.
Chip Kelly talked about how excited he was to be adding a player like Sproles to the offense. He called the diminutive play-maker an "unbelievable offensive weapon." Sproles went on to say he thinks the Eagles offense could get "real crazy" with his arrival.
Sproles ranks 8th in NFL history with 9,902 career kick and punt return yards and 13th among running backs with 27 career receiving TDs.
