The 2014 NFL Draft is only about 50 days away and draft season is heating up. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is making his way around the country attending various pro days. It's always interesting to note which prospects the Eagles are keeping an eye on. A few weeks back, Kelly was spotted checking out some prospects at the Ohio State pro day (Bradley Roby, Ryan Shazier). Last week, Eagles QB coach Bill Musgrave was spotted talking to Wyoming QB Brett Smith. On Monday, Kelly was spotted at Louisville's pro day. Here a few names of interest:
QB Teddy Bridgewater
Bridgewater is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks drafted this year. His pro day performance left some walking away unimpressed. Mike Mayock called Bridgewater's showing "average at best." Either way, it doesn't hurt for Kelly to do his due diligence on a prospect like Bridgewater.
S Calvin Pryor
Pryor is hardly a name Eagles fans are unfamiliar with. The hard-hitting Louisville safety is a player that often shows up mocked to the Eagles in mock drafts. In fact, Mel Kiper's latest mock draft has the Eagles taking Pryor.
OLB Marcus Smith
Smith is an intriguing target. The Eagles need a long-term option at 3-4 outside linebacker. Smith could interest the Eagles as an immediate pass rusher off the bench and a future starter. Smith goes about 6-3, 251 pounds and showed off good athleticism at the 2014 NFL Combine. As a bonus, Kelly was photographed talking directly with Smith:
Some other players working out at the Louisville pro day include: Preston Brown, B.J. Butler, Damian Copeland, Jarrett Davis, Brandon Dunn, George Durant, Ryan Hubbell, Champ Lee, Senorise Perry, Roy Philon, Deon Rogers, and Hakeem Smith.
