2014 NFL Draft: No Projected Compensatory Picks for the Eagles

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Every year, Jimmy Kempski (with some help) releases a list of projected compensatory draft picks. This year, the Eagles aren't projected to earn one. Compensatory picks are extra picks at the ends of rounds 3-7 that are awarded to teams that suffered net losses in terms of free agents lost/signed. The amount of money and playing time the departing player gets also factors in. This year, the Eagles aren't projected to get a compensatory pick. They signed nine players and lost six. While the Eagles didn't earn a pick for themselves, they potentially helped some other teams earn a compensatory pick.

2013 Free Agents Not Retained

CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (Broncos)
OT King Dunlap (Chargers)
LB Akeem Jordan (Chiefs)
DT Derek Landri (Buccaneers)
DE Darryl Tapp (Redskins)
OG Jake Scott (Lions - didn't make final roster)

2013 Free Agents Signed

CB Cary Williams - Projected 5th for the Ravens
CB Bradley Fletcher - Projected 7th for the Rams
OLB Connor Barwin - Projected 5th for the Texans
P Donnie Jones - Projected 7th for the Texans
S Patrick Chung - Projected 6th for the Patriots
TE James Casey
NT Isaac Sopoaga
ILB Jason Phillips
S Kenny Phillips

Here is a complete list of the Eagles 2014 NFL draft picks as it currently stands. They own their each pick in every round except the sixth, where they don't have a pick. The Eagles also have an extra fifth round pick due to the Isaac Sopoaga trade. Pick numbers beyond the third round are to be determined after the official release of the NFL compensatory picks in late March. The Eagles could add picks by trading players away or lose picks by trading for players.
