Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News is reporting that the New York Jets have interest in signing impending free agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.

The Daily News has learned that the Jets covet free agent wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Emmanuel Sanders with the hope that one or both can help revamp the league's 31st-ranked passing offense from last season.

Maclin, a former first round pick, is one of the best free agent receivers on the market, but he's coming off an ACL injury that ended his 2013 season before it ever started.. A team like the Jets, who clearly lack offensive weapons, could be desperate to pay Maclin a good deal in order to acquire his services. NYJ has the 11th most cap space heading into this offseason. Last week, Maclin tweeted "Stay Tuned...", which led some to believe Maclin had re-signed a deal with the Eagles. A report from BGN Radio member John Barchard even said that the Eagles had reached a deal with Maclin, but that hasn't turned out to be the case... or at least yet. Maclin took to Twitter again on Friday with a new message:
