In honor of National Signing Day, a day where the top high school football recruits decide where they will be attending college, I thought it would be fun to take a look at where current Eagles players ranked coming out of high school. Click a player's name for their Rivals.com recruit page. I couldn't find every player, especially the older ones. SB Nation has complete coverage of National Signing Day here.
Some things I found interesting:
• The Eagles have at least five 5-star recruits. Of those five, only one is a starter.
• All of the Eagles running backs were at least 3-star recruits coming out of high school: Brown (5), McCoy and Polk (4), and Tucker (3).
• Some players recruited at different positions than they are now: Clifton Geathers (OT), Jeff Maehl (CB), Ifeanyi Momah (tight end), Nate Allen (dual-threat QB), Colt Anderson (pro-style QB), Connor Barwin (TE), James Casey ( pro-style QB), Jason Phillips (pro-style QB), Lane Johnson (pro-style QB), Cedric Thornton (ILB).
• Look how different Lane Johnson and Cedric Thornton used to look. And check out Batmandervelde's sweet hair.
