With the start of free agency three weeks away, Eagles free-agent receiver Jeremy Maclin remains hopeful that he can reach a deal to stay in Philadelphia. "I've always stated this is where I want to be. The Eagles have stated the same thing," Maclin said Saturday at the NovaCare Complex before tryouts for the Soul of the arena league. "We'll continue to get on the same page with all that and just get something done."

With the Olympics in full swing and the United States continuing their post Cold War hockey dominance over the Ruskies, as a football writer, I became jealous that we don't get to see NFL players in action against the rest of the world. You can pretty much look at any All-Pro list and formulate your own USA team, but who would they play? You'd probably have to create one all-encompassing "World Team" to take on the Americans, as opposed to individual countries. And so... Let's first meet the World Team. BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

If the Eagles asked my advice, I’d tell them to trade Graham to a 4-3 team. The guy can play. No one disputes that. But he just doesn’t seem like a good fit for the Eagles anymore. Graham lacks the size that Chip Kelly prefers. Graham is awkward when he’s got to drop back, which is part of playing OLB in the 3-4. And he’s going to be a free agent at the end of 2014. Does it seem likely that the Eagles would re-sign him?

He's raw, but he will win matchups against exhausted, confused defenders on Chip Kelly's non-stop elliptical runner. The Eagles have a greater need at safety, but Kelly grooves to his own beat.

There’s more bad news for the Cowboys. The Eagles are coached by Chip Kelly, another successful college coach who recruited nationally at Oregon. He spent four years with the Ducks so he has a four-year window when he’ll know the draft board better than the NFL lifers.

As one would expect, Brown's reception from Philly fans was far from civil. In an interview with Comcast SportsNet's John Clark on "Phillies Focus," Brown said he didn't expect that kind of reaction. "I knew I was going to have a few people that was going to get on me about it," Brown said, "but I didn't think it was going to be that big. "Because like I tell a lot of people, I like the Eagles but when you're playing my Cowboys, it's a different story."
