Cowboys vs. Colts: Philadelphia's season hangs in the balance

NFL Week 16 Late Games 2014.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles have the day off after losing to the Washington Redskins by a final score of 27-24. Now that the NFL Week 16 early games are over, it's time for the late game slate.

The Eagles are virtually eliminated from the playoffs and don't really deserve to make the postseason anyway, but they're still technically alive. That could change very soon. If the Dallas Cowboys beat the Indianapolis Colts today, the Cowboys will clinch the NFC East and the Eagles will be officially eliminated from the playoffs. The only way that the Eagles could make the playoffs at this point is if Dallas loses this week AND next week against the Washington Redskins while the Eagles beat the New York Giants in Week 17. It's a long-shot at best.

Speaking of the Giants, they are also scheduled to play this afternoon in St. Louis against the Rams.

You can watch the Colts-Cowboys game on CBS.

Here's who the BGN writers are taking. Here's advice when picking against the spread.
