Much-maligned Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Bradley Fletcher has been benched. Nolan Carroll II is now lining up at the outside cornerback position in Philadelphia's base defense.
Fletcher hasn't been removed from the field entirely. He's still taking snaps on the outside when Philadelphia moves to their dime formation. Carroll II is the team's dime corner.
The benching has been a long time coming. Fletcher has struggled all season and has especially struggled in recent weeks. DeSean Jackson has burned Fletcher for a number of big catches in Saturday night's Eagles-Redskins game.
