NFC Playoff Picture: Eagles are basically out

Toast.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles aren't officially eliminated from the post-season yet, but their chances of qualifying for the 2015 NFL playoffs are very, very slim following a 27-24 loss to the Washington Redskins on Saturday night.

The truth is that the Eagles don't deserve to make the playoffs. They've now lost three straight games after starting out the season 9-3. They choked their season away and failed to come up big when it counted.

The ONLY way the Birds can make the playoffs now is if the Dallas Cowboys lost out against the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins while the Eagles win their Week 17 game against the New York Giants. The Eagles cannot earn a wild card spot.

Philadelphia can be officially eliminated as soon as Sunday if the Cowboys beat the Colts.

For Eagles fans, it's likely going to be a disappointing end to a season that once looked somewhat promising.
