The Philadelphia Eagles have announced their game-day inactive list in preparation for their NFL Week 16 game against the Washington Redskins.
There are no major surprises.
Starting quarterback Nick Foles is out due to a fractured collarbone. There's a good chance Foles won't play again this season. Veteran signal caller Mark Sanchez will start in place of the injured Foles. Second-year quarterback Matt Barkley will serve as the backup to Sanchez. Veteran wide receiver Brad Smith is the team's emergency quarterback.
Trent Cole is also out. The veteran linebacker had surgery on his broken hand this week. Brandon Graham will start in place of Cole. Graham hasn't started a game since 2012, so this will be a big opportunity for him, especially with free agency looming.
Cole's absence also means that rookie first round pick Marcus Smith II will get some playing time at outside linebacker. Smith II had been working with the inside linebackers after starting out the season on the outside. The team doesn't seem to know what Smith II's future holds.
Rookie cornerback Jaylen Watkins is active for the fourth time all season.
