The Philadelphia Eagles have released their first official injury report in preparation of their Week 16 game against the Washington Redskins.
Nick Foles actually participated in some individual drills on Wednesday. He was seen wearing his helmet for the first time since suffering a fractured collarbone in Week 9. Foles will NOT play on Saturday. He was already ruled out by head coach Chip Kelly on Monday, and the injury report reflects that notion.
Kelly said there hasn't been thought to putting Foles in the injured reserve list, so there's still a chance his season isn't over. But more likely than not, it already is. A report by Mike Garafalo indicates that Foles won't be ready to play in Week 17. Foles is healthy enough to throw right now, but he's not healthy enough to take a hit.
Veteran outside linebacker Trent Cole has been ruled out. Brandon Graham will start in his place. Graham hasn't started since 2012, so it will be interesting to see how he performs in an expanded role.
Graham indicated that rookie first round pick Marcus Smith II will play in a rotational role at outside linebacker. Graham said Smith II will play at the PREDATOR position, which is where Graham and Cole typically play. Smith II spent time learning the JACK position, which Connor Barwin plays, during the offseason.
All other players are listed as probable or better.
