Philadelphia's upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks is very important with respect to the NFL playoff picture. As already explained, the Eagles are very alive for the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

Before the Eagles can worry about that, however, they will need to take care of business in the division. Philadelphia boosted their division title hopes significantly with a win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. The two teams will meet again in Week 15 where the Eagles can potentially clinch the division with a win.

The results of this week's Cowboys-Bears Thursday Night Football game in Chicago is effectively rendered meaningless if the Eagles go on to beat Seattle. Philadelphia can officially clinch the NFC East in Week 15 if they beat the Cowboys for the second time this season.

If the Cowboys lose on Thursday night, however, that would give the Eagles some breathing room. Philadelphia could lose to Seattle on Sunday and still clinch the NFC East with a win over the Cowboys in Week 15.

These scenarios are just another reminder that the Eagles are in very good position with just four games remaining. At this time last year the team was 7-5 and stuck behind the Cowboys due to Dallas owning a tiebreaker. It took the Eagles until the season finale in Week 17 to clinch the playoff spot. This year they might do it with two weeks to spare.
