Eagles-Texans Final Score: 10 things learned from Philadelphia's win over Houston - BGN
As previously mentioned, Foles has struggled this season. The Eagles have been winning despite those struggles, but to this point it hasn't looked like Foles has played well enough to warrant a long-term contract extension by the Eagles in the offseason. With Foles set to miss several weeks now, his future with the team looks even more uncertain. If Sanchez plays well in Foles' absence, it's hard to see head coach Chip Kelly veering away from the hot hand if the team is winning. Even if Foles takes back his job if/when he returns, he will have missed a number of games that could have been useful in determining his future with the team. There's still a lot up in the air so this isn't time for definitive conclusions, but it's time to admit things look really uncertain.

1st Place Eagles - Iggles Blitz
Not a great performance by the Eagles, but plenty to be happy about. I loved the way the run game came alive and took over the game in the 2nd half. How cool is it to put Chris Polk in the game late and have him run downhill and break tackles? It was also good to see Mark Sanchez throw a couple of Red Zone TD passes. Those were huge.

10 observations from Eagles-Texans - CSN Philly
It was painful watching Herremans trying to play Sunday, and it wasn’t a coincidence that as soon as Andrew Gardner replaced him at right guard the offense marched down the field 70 yards on four plays for that crucial touchdown. I give Herremans a ton of credit for toughness and courage and determination, but it’s just impossible to play offensive line with one arm. I would think when Evan Mathis returns next week, Matt Tobin moves to right guard.

DeMeco Ryans Suffers Achilles Injury - Birds 24/7
"He's the true leader. He's Mufasa," said Chip Kelly. "He's our guy. But when a warrior goes down you pick up his shield and you go play in honor of him, and I think our guys did."

Eagles grind out costly victory in Houston - The 700 Level
The Eagles managed to win anyway, thanks in large part to a renewed focus on the ground attack. Philly running backs carried 34 times for 184 yards—a 5.4 average—and one touchdown. LeSean McCoy led the charge with 23 rushes for 117 yards, but Kelly also mixed in a heavy dose of Chris Polk, who ran with authority—eight times for 50 and a score.

Eagles running game finally restores some order - Daily News
Four more turnovers. Four! And three of them led to three Texans touchdowns, which was all of the Texans' touchdowns. It is an absurd way for a good team to play in the NFL. In fact, history pretty much insists that it is an impossible way for a good team to play in the NFL. That the Eagles beat the Texans, 31-21, raising their record to 6-2, is borderline ridiculous at this point. How good could the Eagles be if they protected the football? And will we ever find out?

Do Eagles have QB controversy? - Daily News
Sanchez finished 15-for-22 for 202 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. It was as if he channeled his Rex Ryan Experience.

Sanchez Takes Control At QB Spot -
Mark Sanchez packed up his bag in the visitor's locker room at NRG Stadium in the aftermth of Sunday's 31-21 win over Houston with Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" playing from his collection, knowing just how significant a moment it was for him and the Eagles ...

Jason Peters learned Nick Foles was hurt when he congratulated the wrong QB - SB Nation
We can forgive a player not knowing his quarterback is injured, but when you're the left tackle ... that's pretty bad.
