NFL Playoff Picture: Giants lose to Cowboys, fail to help the Eagles

The New York Giants are bad (not good).

The New York Giants did the Philadelphia Eagles no favors on Sunday Night Football. The G-men, leading the Cowboys by four points with less than two minutes to go, allowed a game-winning Dallas score with little-to-no resistance. Those good for nothing Giants lost at home by a final score of 31-28. In the process, they dropped to 3-8 and were officially eliminated from being able to win the NFC East.

With the win, the Dallas Cowboys now advance to 8-3 on the season. They Cowboys are now 2-1 in division games and 5-3 against NFC opponents. The Eagles are also 8-3, but Philadelphia currently holds the tie-breaker over the Cowboys due to having a better division record: 2-0.

With Week 12 out of the way, the focus now shifts to the date that Eagles and Cowboys fans alike circled on their calendar immediately after the 2014 NFL schedule was revealed: a Thanksgiving showdown in Dallas.

The turn-around will be quick. Thursday will be here before we know it.

Dallas week is here. It's a huge game with big playoff implications. Winner takes driver's seat in the NFC East, though maybe only temporarily because the two wins will face off again in Week 15.

In the immortal words of Bart Scott... can't wait.
