According to NFL insider Jay Glazer, the Philadelphia Eagles almost made a trade prior to the 2014 NFL trade deadline earlier this week. Glazer made an appearance on the FOX pre-game show and noted that the Eagles tried to acquire Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson.
And Eagles tried to trade for Vincent Jackson but Tampa wouldn't do it

Now, this report doesn't exactly come as a surprise. Philadelphia was linked to Jackson in rumors leading up to the deadline. But it appears the Eagles had more than just casual interest in the veteran wide receiver. It ended up being the Buccaneers who turned down Philadelphia's offer. It's unclear what the Eagles offered to Tampa Bay.
Clearly the Eagles have interest in upgrading the wide receiver position. While Jeremy Maclin has excelled in his return from injury, Riley Cooper's play hasn't been encouraging.
As noted earlier, the NFL trade deadline is over so the Eagles won't be able to make another offer for Jackson. That is, unless they decide to revisit the idea in the offseason.
