Misc Monday Night Stuff - Iggles Blitz
Fixing the secondary – How could Howie Roseman and Chip Kelly pass on Aqib Talib and Darrelle Revis to keep the current corners? Complicated question. Both guys had big price tags. Both guys have baggage. That combination might have been enough to scare off the Eagles. Let’s not forget they tried adding stars back in 2011 with Nnamdi and DRC and that didn’t go as planned. Kelly and Bill Davis like the current corners more than fans and the media, but they do know the position must be upgraded. Will likely be a priority this offseason to add one starting CB and maybe draft another one or two.
Fan-Demonium: It's Just One Game - PE.com
There is an old saying that proved to be very true this past weekend: be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. I wanted to see the Eagles play a good team like the Packers so I could get a better feel for just how the team stacked up. Unfortunately, the Packers played their best game of the year and the Eagles played their worst. When that happens, you lose 53-20 and suffer through a long day. Just as frustrating, we still don't know what to make of the Eagles. At their worst, they aren't good enough to beat a team like the Packers. What about at their best? We didn't get to see that on Sunday so we're left with "What if?" questions. One thing the Eagles did get to see is how a good team looks when they do play at an elite level.
Frustrated Huff Opens Up - Birds 24/7
"I’m definitely not the one to point fingers for my mistakes. What I was trying to get across was that I always listen to what the coaches tell me and it was to break down before I got to the returner because last week when we played the Panthers I almost had a run-in with the returner, and it would have been flagged if I dropped the ball. Me slowing down as much as I did kind of interfered with my timing that I had with the punt and led me to miss the tackle that I normally would make nine out of ten times."
Line of thought: Eagles' run game making headway - Daily News
A YEAR ago, when their offensive line was healthy and dominant and their star running back was gobbling up yards at a franchise-record pace, a 109-yard rushing performance like the one Sunday against the Packers would be considered a disappointment; a too-small fish that would get tossed back into the lake. But given the struggles of the Eagles' run game this season, no fish is too small, especially when it's caught in an otherwise forgettable, 33-point loss.
Can Sanchez put out the turnover fire? - Inquirer
If there was a silver lining to Mark Sanchez's four turnovers against the Packers, it was that they didn't affect the outcome of the game. The Eagles were already trailing, 30-6, early in the third quarter Sunday when Sanchez and LeSean McCoy botched a handoff that resulted in a fumble. The remaining time theoretically was enough to pull off a comeback, but only if Aaron Rodgers and Bradley Fletcher exchanged teams and positions.
Eagles lineman wouldn't hesitate to eat fellow lineman given dire circumstances - The 700 Level
The wise folks who produce Philly Sports Talk every weeknight have come up with a pretty good recipe. Find whatever Eagles lineman happens to be injured at the moment and put him on TV to answer whatever wacky questions Philadelphia Sports Twitter can come up with. Evan Mathis was great on the show while he was on IR and now that Todd Herremans is out for the season, he took a crack at answering some goofy questions.
Eagles: Aaron Rodgers laughed us out of Lambeau - CSN Philly
As if dissecting their blitzes, carving up their coverages and slipping out of their sacks wasn’t enough. Aaron Rodgers was also laughing at the Eagles' defense. Two Eagles said Green Bay's Pro Bowl quarterback frequently laughed, smirked and snidely enjoyed his three-touchdown masterpiece during Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field, a 53-20 Packers blowout. "Hell, yeah. That sh-- pissed me off," outside linebacker Brandon Graham said. "I wanted to get him. But at the end of the day, shoot, he was doing his job. More power to him. I guess we would be laughing if we were sacking him."
Explaining Adrian Peterson's suspension and what it means for his future - SB Nation
Adrian Peterson has been denied reinstatement by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. What does this mean for the Peterson, the Vikings, fans and the NFL at large?
