The Philadelphia Eagles took care of business at home on Monday Night Football with a dominating win over the Carolina Panthers, 45-21. The Eagles advanced to 7-2 on the season, which is the team's best start since 2004.
At the risk of soundly extremely cliche, it was a complete team effort. All three phases came to play. Mark Sanchez connected with Jordan Matthews for two scores as the offense put up a total of 21 points in the game. The Philadelphia defense came away with five turnovers and also produced nine sacks on Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. The Eagles special teams unit provided a touchdown via the form of a Darren Sproles punt return. You really can't say the Eagles are one-dimensional.
It was an exciting win for a team that has gone undefeated at home in their last nine regular season games. In that span, they have scored opponents 313-168 for an average of 34.8 to 18.7 per game.
